PCCF ENDS WITH THE TITLE FOR THE TEAM ALMERAS
The Porsche Carrera Cup France has finished the season at Paul Ricard this weekend. Marvin Klein gets the drivers title and the team Martinet by Alméras, the one where our team participates, has taken the teams title.
Probably this wasn’t the weekend expected by our driver Rafa Villanueva, who arrived to its second round to the competition after his first performance at Valencia last month. His goal for this last two races of the championship was to be at P10 at the end, but we’ve seen that this is a higher level of competition and Rafa knows that this Porsche GT3 Cup is harder to drive as his precedent cars.
Practice sessions showed how drivers wanted to give everything in a circuit where we are used to continuous track limits penalties. While championship winner Marvin Klein did 2:06.032 as best time on practice, Villanueva couldn’t go ahead of 2:07.872, which was his best lap of the weekend. Track limits advice didn’t help to get a faster lap. The qualifying session was determined once again by infractions, and he was penalized to start at the end of the grid on both races.
